    Amazon Music Unlimited is the premium music streaming subscription offered by Amazon, and it features over 75 million songs to be enjoyed in HD, Ultra HD, and Spatial audio. 

    However, there is a growing number of music streaming services out there. If you’re tempted to switch to a competitor or are looking to cut down on your monthly subscription costs, here’s how to easily cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited membership.

    How to Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited Free Trial

    Amazon offers a three-month free trial for Amazon Music Unlimited. When you sign up for this trial, you will be asked to enter your billing information. At the end of the free trial, you will be billed automatically and won’t be able to ask for a refund.

    To avoid being billed when the free trial expires, head to Your Amazon Music settings, and under “Membership Status,” click on Remind me before the next payment. This way, you will receive an email reminder three days before the end of your free trial.

    And if you don’t want to pay for Amazon Music Unlimited, you should cancel your subscription. You can do so by following the steps below.

    How to Cancel Your Amazon Music Unlimited Subscription

    Here’s how you can cancel your Amazon Music membership from any device based on how you signed up.

    Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited on a Browser

    1. Head to Amazon.com and log in to your account

    2. Locate the Accounts & Lists menu at the top-right-hand corner. On the drop-down menu, select Membership & Subscriptions.

    3. Next to the Amazon Music subscription, click on Cancel Subscription.

    4. Click on Confirm Cancellation

    Alternatively, you can also follow the steps below to cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited membership on a browser:

    1. Visit Your Amazon Music settings

    2. Under Membership status, click on Terminate membership.

    Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited on Your Android Device

    1. Open the Amazon Music app on your Android device

    2. Click on the gear-shaped icon to open Settings

    3. Head to Amazon Music Unlimited

    4. In the Subscription Renewal section, click on Cancel subscription

    5. Tap Submit and then Confirm the cancellation.

    Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited on Your iPhone or iPad

    While iPhone and iPad users have access to the Amazon Music app, they cannot cancel their Amazon Music subscription from within the app. 

    Instead, to can cancel your Amazon Music subscription via your iPhone or iPad, follow the steps below:

    1. From your mobile browser, visit Amazon.com and log in to your account.

    2. At the top-right-hand corner, click on your profile icon.

    3. Head to Your Memberships & Subscriptions

    4. Locate Amazon Music Unlimited and select Cancel Subscription

    5. Click on Confirm cancellation

    If you’ve signed up and are billed for your Amazon Music subscription via your Apple ID, then you should follow the steps below to cancel your membership.

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad

    2. At the top of the Settings page, tap on Apple ID.

    3. Click on Subscriptions

    4. Locate Amazon Music on the list of active subscriptions

    5. Click on Cancel Membership, then tap on Confirm.

    Cancel Amazon Music Unlimited Through iTunes on Desktop

    1. Open iTunes on your Mac or PC

    2. Click on Account at the top of the screen.

    3. Select View My Account

    4. On the Settings sections, locate Subscriptions and click on Manage next to it.

    5. Next to Amazon Music, click the Edit button.

    6. Select Cancel Subscription and then Confirm

    What Happens When You Cancel Your Amazon Music Unlimited Subscription

    If you cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited Subscription before the end of your current billing cycle, you will be able to access the service and all its features until the end of the term. 

    You will be downgraded to the free Amazon Music plan when you stop paying for Amazon Music Unlimited. If you’re a Prime user, you will be switched to the Amazon Music Premium plan.

    After cancellation, all your library titles will be grayed out, and the playback option will be removed. That is, until you decide to subscribe again.

    Can I Pause Amazon Music Unlimited?

    This is a common question among Amazon Music Unlimited users. The answer is no. If you want to take a break from the Amazon Unlimited membership, you have to cancel your membership. However, you can come back to it at any time.

    For example, if you’re currently on the Amazon Individual plan paying $9.99 per month as a non-Prime customer, you can move to the Single Device Plan for $3.99 per month. With the Single Device plan, you get all the benefits of Amazon Music Unlimited to use on your Echo device at a lower price.

    Also, you can switch to the Amazon Unlimited Family Plan and split the bill with five other people, costing you only $2.50 per month.

    2. Downgrade Your Amazon Music Plan

    You can get Amazon Music Premium at no additional cost if you’re a Prime member. As you can see from the table, Amazon Music Premium offers fewer features than the Unlimited subscription. However, you still will have access to over 2 million titles. 

    If you’re currently on one of the Amazon Music Unlimited subscription plans, first follow the steps above to cancel your Unlimited membership. Then, as a Prime member, you will automatically have access to  Amazon Music Premium.

    Alternatively, everyone can stream music for free on Amazon. With the Free plan, you will have access to thousands of stations and top playlists. The small price you have to pay is the interruption of ads from time to time. 

    To downgrade to the Free plan, you first need to cancel your paid Amazon Music Unlimited subscription. Then, head to Amazon Music Free to start streaming for free.

    3. Take Advantage of the Student Plan

    If you are enrolled at an accredited college or university, you might qualify for the Amazon Music Student Plan at only $0.99 per month.
